Fred and Connie Richmond have been crafting since the 1970’s.They began displaying hand made items and antiques at the Tobacco Warehouse in Farmville. From the 1970’s until 2004 they traveled throughout Central Virginia participating in festivals and craft shows.
In 2004 they decided to retire from craft shows and establish their shop at 306 Main Street. Never content at being idle, you’ll find Connie and Fred busy at work on just about any day you visit. Connie paints and makes wreaths while Fred weaves baskets or makes mobiles. Few people know that Connie taught Fred how to weave baskets. Connie’s true love is painting and will readily tell you she wishes she could focus more on painting. Fred makes the grapevine wreaths, wood items, grows and cleans the gourds.Connie decorates wreaths, paints gourds, and rocks. They truly are a team.
When they’re not at Guinea Creek Crafts, they're working at their home growing gourds, making walking sticks, wreaths or creating a new craft item.
So stop by and sit a spell you’ll surely be greeted with a warm welcome.
